Please join the College's Section on Public Health and Preventive Medicine for this installment of the Health and Community Program Series (formerly Grand Rounds), entitled “Live Your Best Life with Better Oral Health.”

It’s bigger than you think! According to , the estimated number of oral disease cases worldwide exceeds the combined number of cases of mental disorders, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases, and cancers.

They are all connected! We will explain in detail how oral diseases (gingivitis, periodontitis) and systemic diseases (diabetes, heart attack, stroke, liver disease, certain cancers) have important connections (mostly through inflammation) that give us clues to effective prevention and treatments… and healthier lifespans.

The real integration of Oral Health Care and Systemic Health Care (physicians and dentists working together on the same patients in truly shared facilities) can dramatically lower overall health care costs!  We will show you the evidence.
