Medical AI As We See It: An Expert Panel Discussion
Section Event

Join the Section on Digital Technologies for "Medical AI As We See It," as senior executives from some of the most influential organizations shaping healthcare today lead a discussion you won't want to miss.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming every aspect of healthcare, from clinical decision-making and diagnostics to physician workflows and patient engagement. Yet amid the excitement and uncertainty surrounding these advances, healthcare leaders are grappling with a fundamental question: What does the future of medicine look like in an AI-enabled world?
This program brings together senior executives from four of the most influential organizations shaping healthcare today: Siemens Healthineers, Epic, Ambience Healthcare, and Doximity. Representing diverse perspectives across the healthcare technology ecosystem, these leaders will explore how AI is being implemented in practice, where it is delivering meaningful value, and what challenges remain ahead.
Moderated by the Chair of the Section on Digital Technologies, the discussion will examine the impact of AI on clinicians, health systems, patients, and the future of care delivery. Panelists will share their perspectives on emerging opportunities, responsible innovation, physician adoption, trust, governance, and the evolving relationship between technology and the practice of medicine.
Designed for physicians, healthcare leaders, researchers, educators, and technology professionals, this timely conversation will move beyond headlines and hype to provide a candid look at how those on the front lines of innovation see the future of healthcare unfolding.
Join us for an engaging exchange of ideas on one of the most consequential developments in modern medicine: artificial intelligence as seen through the eyes of the leaders helping to shape its future.

About the Panelists
Dr. Dorin Comaniciu is Senior Vice President for Healthcare AI at Siemens Healthineers. His scientific contributions to computational imaging and machine intelligence have translated into a broad portfolio of clinical products across diagnostic imaging, image-guided therapy, and precision medicine. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Medicine, and a Fellow of IEEE, ACM, and MICCAI. With more than 600 granted patents, 400 peer-reviewed papers, and 70,000 citations, Comaniciu’s work has played an important role in advancing medical imaging to become faster, more automated, and more precise, enabling improved detection, quantification, and treatment of disease. A graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, he holds doctorates from Rutgers University and the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and is a passionate advocate for transformative technologies that improve and save lives.
Mr. Garrett Adams is Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Epic, where he leads AI strategy and product development across the company's clinical portfolio. He joined Epic 16 years ago and remains a builder and tinkerer at heart, happiest when he's hands-on with the software clinicians use every day. He keeps a close eye on the latest advances in technology, always asking how they can help meet the real needs of the health systems, clinicians, and patients Epic serves. That experience shapes his view of AI in medicine: the technology matters only if it fits how care actually happens, keeps clinicians in the loop, and holds up to scrutiny.
Mr. Nikhil Buduma is Co-Founder and CEO of Ambience Healthcare, the leading platform for AI-enabled care delivery. Today, Ambience's AI platform spans outpatient, emergency, and inpatient settings across more than 200 specialties — embedded directly in major EHRs and trusted by leading health systems including Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Houston Methodist, and Memorial Hermann Health System. Ambience has raised $343M and is backed by Oak HC/FT, Andreessen Horowitz, OpenAI Startup Fund, and Kleiner Perkins. Beyond Ambience, Nikhil is one of the early pioneers of modern deep learning research and the author of Fundamentals of Deep Learning (O'Reilly), the field's first widely adopted textbook. Previously, Nikhil co-founded Remedy Health, an AI-driven primary care platform, and has been recognized by Becker's Hospital Review as one of its Rising Stars: 100 Healthcare Leaders Under 40.
Dr. Amit Phull is the Chief Medical Officer at Doximity. He is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician, serving as Clinical Assistant Professor at George Washington University in DC. He completed his residency training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. In 2014, after serving as a strategy consultant at Bain and Company within Bain’s healthcare vertical, Amit joined Doximity and has been integral to the company's growth from early stages through IPO. He works with multiple teams to design, deliver and scale digital tools that help doctors be more productive so they can provide better care for their patients. Dr. Phull has been featured as a thought leader in technology and healthcare, with specific expertise in applied informatics and medical education.
