Dr. Joseph Savino's career represents a remarkable journey from a young Italian immigrant facing language barriers and economic hardship in Philadelphia to becoming one of the nation's leading cardiac anesthesiologists and a founding father of intraoperative echocardiography. His four-decade career at Penn Medicine has been marked by groundbreaking innovation in cardiac surgery imaging, transforming patient care through the development and implementation of transesophageal echocardiography. 

Joining Dr. Savino will be . Dr. Kaiser brings over three decades of experience in both clinical practice and academic leadership. He has served as a thoracic surgeon, led major health systems including Temple University's Health System, and held top positions at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Kaiser is recognized for his work in surgery, medical education, and healthcare administration, and is a member of the National Academy of Medicine. His commitment to connecting the history of medicine with today's challenges makes him an inspiring leader for future medical professionals.
