The Public Health Symposium kicks off National Public Health Week
The symposium provides a unique collaborative environment for academic, community, and government public health professionals to share and learn about public health initiatives and advancements in the greater Philadelphia area.
Symposium Presenters: Call for Abstracts
We are pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the 10th Annual Public Health Day Symposium, taking place on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
The Public Health Day Symposium serves as the culminating event of National Public Health Week, offering a collaborative platform for academic, community, and government public health professionals to exchange insights on public health initiatives and advancements in the greater Philadelphia region.
This year’s theme is CHANGE, and we particularly encourage submissions addressing:
• Climate Change – prevention, mitigation, and resilience
• Changing Attitudes Toward Substance Use and Substance Use Disorders
• Changing Perspectives on Homelessness
• New Approaches to Addressing Violence
While these topics will be prioritized, all public health-related submissions are welcome.
Symposium Format
The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, featuring multiple rounds of short presentations (5 to 10 minutes each, depending on the number of speakers). Audience members will have the opportunity to engage with speakers during roundtable-style discussions.
Presenters must arrive by 8:15 AM to set up their electronic slide presentations.

Eligibility
Submissions are open to recent health and allied health graduates as well as working professionals. Interested students should submit their work to the on May 1, 2025.

The 2021 session featured a special focus on the response to the COVID-19 pandemic in our communities.
